ADOC Indonesia Center

From 2006 to June 2013, 13 ADOC centers have been established in Indonesia, and over 61,890 people have been trained. These centers mainly focus on trainer training, ICT skills for women and children, and enhancing e-commerce capacity of local SMEs.

FTII, Bandung (2006)

FTII, Bandung is a Telecommunication Center established in 2006. In 2006, ADOC established a Partner Office and Digital Opportunity Center at the Indonesian Federation of ICT (FTII) and Telenet Centers in Bandung City and Yogyakarta Province. Based on this successful experience, ADOC opened an e-Commerce Center the following year at the SPC Building.

FTII, Yogykarta (2006)

FTII, Yogykarta is a Telecommunication Center established in 2006. In 2006, ADOC established a Partner Office and Digital Opportunity Center at the Indonesian Federation of ICT (FTII) and Telenet Centers in Bandung City and Yogyakarta Province. Based on this successful experience, ADOC opened an e-Commerce Center the following year at the SPC Building.

Ministry of SMEs and Cooperatives (2007)

SME is an e-Commerce Center established in 2007. SME stands for small and medium enterprises in Indonesia. The main mission of SMEs is to assist the development of small and medium businesses in Indonesia, demonstrating their marketing capabilities. The e-commerce center is located in the SPC building. There are currently 16 personal computers and projectors.

Hati Suci Foundation (2008)

Hati Suci is an Electronic Learning Digital Center established in 2008. The APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC) successfully established two more Electronic Learning Digital Centers at the Suci Heart Orphanage (Yayasan Hati Suci / Panti Asuhan Hati Suci) for children, and at the SME Shopping Center (MAL UKM) of the Jakarta Capital Regional Government for women, on May 22 and 23, 2008, respectively. These two ADOC e-Learning Digital Centers were presented by the ADOC Secretariat, represented by Deputy Secretary Dr. Yi-Yuan Yueh, to the Indonesian ICT Federation (FTII), with President Mr. Teddy Sukardi officiating during the launch ceremony. Over 200 people, including officials from the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Jakarta Capital Regional Government, representatives of the educational community, SMEs, and some female entrepreneurs and students attended these events. The centers are equipped with modern training facilities, including 15 personal computers, internet modem connection, projectors, fax machines, scanners, and printers. The ADOC team aims to train more than 300 people in the first year of operation.

FTII, Jakarta (2008)

FTII is an Electronic Learning Digital Center established in 2008. The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC) will open two Electronic Learning Centers in Jakarta Province on May 22 and 23, 2008. These centers are the result of collaborative efforts between the Indonesian ICT Federation (FTII) and the ADOC Secretariat from Taipei, Taiwan.

In 2006, ADOC established the Partner Office and Digital Opportunity Center at the Indonesian Federation of ICT (FTII) and Telenet Centers in Bandung City and Yogyakarta Province. Based on this successful experience, ADOC opened an e-Commerce Center the following year at the SPC Building. The new Electronic Learning Centers in 2008 will be the fifth and sixth centers of ADOC in Indonesia.

Diakonia Mocem Campus (KDM) (2009)

KDM is the ADOC 2.0 Electronic Learning Digital Center, established in 2009. KDM is a non-profit organization providing education and shelter for street children in Indonesia, on railway lines or bus stations.

Tzu Chi Love School (2010)

Tzu Chi Love School is an ADOC 2.0 Electronic Learning Digital Center established in 2010. To further expand this collaborative achievement, the ADOC Secretariat Office at III and the private industry members of ADOC 2.0 — Asus Culture & Education Foundation — jointly donated 64 multi-media touchscreen PCs and 32 multifunctional Notebook PCs this year to establish 3 Digital Opportunity Centers and 2 Digital Operations Centers. The donation ceremony and cooperation agreement signing will be held separately at Tzu Chi Compassion Village Jakarta on November 30, 2010, and at Aceh Syiah Kuala University on December 2.

Syiah Kuala University (2010)

Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng, received sponsored laptops from Ms. Diana Hai-Yen Tsai, Executive Director of the ADOC Secretariat, Institute of Information Industry, Taiwan, during the ADOC 2.0 Contract Signing and Handover Ceremony at Syiah Kuala University on December 2, 2010.

The UNSYIAH-ADOC Electronic Learning Center is located on the 3rd floor of the UNSYIAH-TAIWAN ICT Center. The center occupies about one of the rooms measuring approximately 6 x 12 meters. The UNSYIAH-ADOC Electronic Learning Center aims to bridge the digital divide in Aceh by enabling local ICT capacity enhancement. The center offers ICT training programs and related activities for trainees such as SMEs, women, children, and marginalized groups.

Orangutan Information Center (2010)

OIC is an ADOC 2.0 Digital Learning Electronic Center established in 2010. OIC is dedicated to the conservation of Sumatran orangutans and their habitat. We promote community awareness about the plight and value of this critically endangered species and its unique environment through grassroots educational programs and empower local communities near their last habitat to work towards a more sustainable future for their forests.

OIC has established extensive links with government and non-governmental organizations, including the Sumatran Orangutan Society, Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program (SOCP), USAID Orangutan Conservation Service Program, UNESCO, Conservation International (CI), Fauna & Flora International (FFI), WCS, North Sumatra Natural Resources Conservation Office (BKSDA), Bapedalda (Indonesia Environmental Impact Assessment Agency), FK3LI (Indonesian Conservation Officers), the Ministry of Forestry, the Ministry of Education in Langkat and Deli Serdang, and the Gunung Leuser National Park Office.

National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (2011)

UPN is an APEC Digital Opportunity Center established in 2011. Funded by Taipei, Taiwan, the second phase of the APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC 2.0) established an APEC Digital Opportunity Center at the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPN). The opening ceremony was held on May 14, 2011.

The center is equipped with modern facilities, including 21 laptops, internet modems, projectors, fax machines, scanners, digital cameras, and printers.

Field Indonesia Organization (2011)

Field is an APEC Digital Opportunity Center established in 2011.

The ADOC Secretariat, represented by Mr. Jose Cheng, the Project Director of the ADOC Secretariat, handed over the center to Field Indonesia Organization, represented by Executive Director Mr. Nugroho Wienarto.
